Where does the counselling take place?

I offer counselling via email, instant message, audio and video call. These sessions can take place from the comfort of your own home, your workplace or even your car.

Instant message, audio call and video call sessions take place on Zoom. Email therapy takes place via email. An email containing the Zoom link will be sent to you at least 24hours ahead of the session

Who do you work with?

I work with people from all walks of life. I provide an online counselling service that meets you where you’re at, both physically and emotionally. I have experience working with a wide range of issues including, abuse, anxiety, stress, depression, eating difficulties, loneliness, relationship problems, health concerns, bereavement, self-esteem, sexual orientation, sexual abuse, discrimination, and many more difficulties that are faced in life. Working online, I often meet expats and digital nomads, however, online counselling can also be suitable to everyone, including people living and working in their home country.

How do I prepare my environment to be free from distractions?

  1. I recommend turning off other devices (such as phones, TV) during our session to minimise distractions.
  2. Set up a space where you can sit comfortably for the duration of the session. Ideally you should set up your device so you can use it hands-free while you remain clearly visible, with adequate lighting, without having to make adjustments as we talk.
  3. We will limit any contact by email or telephone in between sessions to practical arrangements and information only. Sensitive and personal material should be kept for the session itself. I am unable to accept invitations from you on any other form of social media.

How can I prepare myself?

It is important that you have a comfortable, private and safe space for your counselling session. Please try and find a comfortable area where you are confident you cannot be overheard. You will also need to ensure that any vulnerable members of your household have adequate care and supervision for this time.

What happens during the initial consultation?

Before you agree to ongoing therapy sessions, we will meet for a 20-minute consultation. During this time I can answer any questions you may have about online therapy or my therapeutic practice. You will be invited to begin sharing current difficulties and what has led you to seek therapy now.

The initial consultation is a time for you to see if we work well together, and how you feel talking to me, after the initial consultation you will be asked to take time to think about whether you would like to begin therapy together before booking your first full length therapy session.

If you choose not to continue therapy with me, I will ask for you to communicate this via email and I will delete your personal details in line with my privacy policy.
